Dagje in Amsterdam

Vroeg in de ochtend ging ik met de trein naar Amsterdam. Ik vind het fijn om te dwalen door een stad die nog ontwaakt. Echter bleek dat Nederland moest voetballen deze nacht, dus de ochtend was heel druk. Ik ging naar Amsterdam voor de expositie van Martin Parr in Foam. De dag begon ik in een bakkerijtje, daar kreeg ik de tip om het Stadsarchief te bezoeken. Ik begon met de expositie waarvoor ik speciaal ging. Deze gaf mijn weer een dosis nieuwe inspiratie. Daarna ging ik naar het Stadsarchief, ik hou van deze tegeltje in turkoois met okergeel. Een heerlijke plek! De rest van de dag heb ik heerlijk gedwaald door de stad, zo nu en dan een winkeltje bezocht.

Early in the morning, I took the train to Amsterdam. I love wandering through a city that’s still waking up. However, it turned out that the Netherlands had a football match that night, so the morning was very crowded. I went to Amsterdam for Martin Parr’s exhibition at Foam. I started the day in a little bakery, where I was tipped off to visit the City Archives. I began with the exhibition I’d gone there specifically to see. It gave me another dose of fresh inspiration. After that, I went to the City Archives; I love these little tiles in turquoise and ochre yellow. A lovely place! For the rest of the day, I enjoyed wandering through the city, popping into the odd shop now and then.
