Het was zeven jaar geleden dat ik mijn favoriete band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club zag. Toen stonden ze in Tivoli in Utrecht. Wat was ik blij toen ze de ‘Howl-tour’ aankondigde en uiteindelijk ook naar Europa kwamen. Vandaag speelde ze in de Roma, Antwerpen een prachtige zaal met oude kenmerken. Muziek vind ik lastig te beschrijven, dat is iets wat ik beleef en voel door heel mijn lichaam. Zo ook dit concert. Het spelen van de het hele album en dan afsluiten met nog extra nummers! Ik heb zo genoten. Ik had mijn oude camera mee, hiermee kon een kleine serie foto’s maken. Het creëren en terugkijken van mijn eigen foto’s brengt mij terug naar het concert…

It had been seven years since I last saw my favourite band, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Back then, they played at Tivoli in Utrecht. I was so happy when they announced their “Howl tour” and finally came to Europe. Today, they played at the Roma in Antwerp, a beautiful venue with old architecture. I find music difficult to describe; it’s something I experience and feel with my whole body. This concert was no exception. They played the entire album and then finished with some extra songs! I enjoyed it so much. I had my old camera with me, which allowed me to take a small series of photos. Creating and looking back at my own photos takes me back to the concert…
